Let’s pray for peace in Egypt

During the general audience on 12 October Benedict XVI was praying for the intention of peace in Egypt where there are more often attacks on Christians recently. He assured about his closeness to the victims of violence on the religious ground. – ‘I encourage the faithful to pray so that this society could be glad with the real peace whose fundament would be justice, respect of freedom and dignity of each citizen’ – says the Pope.
The Holy Father delivered a catechesis which concerned Psalm 126, that is, an adoration prayer to God. He explained that through the redemption God reveals to us as strong and merciful. He reminded that the prayer will become adoration of God and will fill us with happiness only when we notice continuous God’s care in our life. He also emphasized the importance of human involvement in God’s work.
Addressing pilgrims from Poland, the Pope greeted especially the faithful from Tarnow diocese who were present at the audience with their bishop Wiktor Skworc.
