POLES WERE THE MOST DISADVANTAGED NATION DURING THE SECOND WORLD WAR, BESIDE THE JEWS AND THE ROMAS

I made a decision about cancelling the Polish delegation from the meeting in Israeli which had been planned earlier (…) I made this decision because the formulations which were said by the foreign minister Mr. Israel Katz, are absolutely unacceptable. They are unacceptable not only in the diplomacy, but also in the public sphere – said the prime minister Morawiecki on 18 February. He added that Poles had been the most disadvantaged nation in the Second World War beside the Jews and the Romas. The chief of the government emphasized that Poles had suffered a great loss. – I am in a permanent touch with our partners from the Visegrad Group, and they understand our step, also my decision that nor will the chief of the Foreign Ministry Jacek Czaputowicz go to Israeli. I warned and I warn also our friends from the Visegrad Gropu against the fact that in Israeli there is an election campaign – in the beginning of April there are going to be elections. This is a circumstance strengthening the temperature of the political dispute, so there is also a risk of being attacked and insulted, like the foreign minister of Israeli Mr. Katz is trying to insult Poles in his racist pronouncement, falsifying history – Morawiecki said. – At the moment we are waiting for a definite reaction to reprehensible and unacceptable racist words of the newly appointed chief of the Foreign Ministry in Israeli. It cannot remain without a reaction – the prime minister Morawiecki emphasized in an interview with journalists.

Finally the summit meeting of V4 in Israeli was cancelled, after the Polish delegation resigned from participation in the meeting.
