EPITAPH OF SMOLEŃSK
The day of 10 April 2010 was inscribed in the history of our nation with the blackest syllables.
In the catastrophe at Smolensk during the journey to Katyń the President of the Polish Republic
Lech Kaczyński was killed, as well as his spouse Maria,
The last president of the Polish Republic in exile, Ryszard Kaczorowski and other people including prominent representatives of our public and social life.
For commemorating the memory about them in Jasna Góra, on 2 and 3 May 2012 there were celebrations whose the most important element was unveiling and consecrating the Epitaph of Smolensk on the courtyard in front of the Chapel of the Miraculous Image of Our Lady.
The author and creator of the project is the artist from Cracow Lech Dziewulski, and the initiators of creating the Epitaph of Smolensk are Pauline Fathers, and the coordinator of the project is - a Foundation 'Pro Patria'.
